Description

Archeology Sundays is a program of guided tours organized by the Archaeological Archive of Lleida City Council.

The municipal archeology section was born in 1992 and the current Archaeological Archive, inaugurated in 2009, is the last milestone of a long itinerary through various premises that culminated in the construction of a space expressly designed to containg the remains of the past and all the documentation generated by the excavations carried out in the city's territory, so that they can be consulted by researchers and visited and enjoyed by citizens and tourists.

The archaeologists of this municipal section will explain an important part of the archaeological heritage through characters and objects linked to different historical periods and spaces of Lleida city.

These visites are recommended to be done with the family. In the archaeological archive, for example, while the archaeological warehouse is being taught, children can be archaeologists and excavate a sandpit, make a mosaic like the Romans, reconstruct ceramic pieces ...

COME, AND YOU WILL DO ARCHAEOLOGY!
