The bases of Sucs and Alcarràs are a protected natural space made up of three small wetlands corresponding to irrigation ponds of semi-natural origin, the so-called Suquets de Baix and of Arròs swamps. It is of great interest due the number of waterfowl populations and the great wealth of biodiversity it hosts. In addition, it is an important wintering and resting area during migrations for many species of birds.

Several protected species live there, such as the gorse (Circus aeru ginosus), the red grouse (Ardea purpurea) and other migratory species. On the banks of the ponds, halophilic vegetation also appears that occupies very small areas, such as the salada (Suaeda vera) or the salat white (Atriplex halimus).

Together with the adjacent rice paddies, they bring a remarkable scenic appeal to the area. The proximity to the town of Alcarràs gives it outstanding pedagogical potential. From a naturalistic point of view, the area is interesting for the nesting of the red wagtail.
