Els Camps Elisis is a landscaped urban park surrounded by wooded land. Place of recreation and stroll for the residents of Lleida, they also stand out for the series of buildings that house and are witnesses of various artistic periods.
Since it was inaugurated in 1864 by Myor Manuel Fuster, this urban park located in the Cappont neighborhood has been adapted and transformed according to the needs of the city, like its connection with the Parc de la Canalització del Segre. Based on a French style, the city has been modeling the park according to the needs and the different architectural currents of the moment.
At the beginning of the 20th century, some modernist-style buildings were added, such as the gazebo, the cafe and the services, and in the 1960s the pond was replaced by a rationalist-inspired glass palace. At the turn of the century it was redesigned in order to open it up and integrate it into the neighborhood and make it more accessible to people.
The park has 10,000 plants and 700 trees of 50 different species, in addition to various cultural and recreational facilities.
