With a tradition of more than 60 years, canoeing in Lleida is mainly practiced in the stretch of the Mitjana river: 1500 linear meters of calm waters and a privileged exuberant environment.
It is now a hundred years since a small dam was built at the entrance to Lleida to collect water for the Seròs canal. This caused the final stretch of the river before reaching the city to stagnate. For decades this has been a little paradise for lovers of canoeing and rowing, who have a splendid natural space close to the city. The Saül Craviotto canoeing school is the base of operations for Lleida residents who like to paddle. It owes its name to the Olympic champion in kayaking.
Observations
- The municipal canoeing school offers introductory courses from April to June.
- Descents are also organized from Balaguer city and, in times of high tide, it is possible to reach the Rufea marshes.
