The Sorigué Foundation, created to contribute to cultural development and artistic creation, has become one of the most recognized private collections of contemporary art in Spain. Formed by more than 450 works, the collection is distinguished by a marked humanist character and by a great didactic vocation.
Since its opening in 2012, at the Museu de la fundació, located in the city of Lleida, various exhibition proposals related to artists represented in the La Planta collection, a Sorigué project, have been temporarily presented and the Sorigué Foundation, such as Antonio López, Wim Wenders, Chiharu Shiota, Oscar Muñoz, Mat Collishaw or William Kentridge.
All exhibitions are accompanied by a pedagogical project and proposals for complementary activities aimed at bringing the exhibits closer to all audiences, thus guaranteeing the achievement of one of the foundation's main objectives: to educate in art and through of the art. In the same vein, the foundation stands out for weaving an extensive network of collaborations with other entities and for carrying out an active lending policy.
