Located at the city’s northeast end, La Mitjana is an exceptional riverside park.  The river defines this Area of Natural Interest, characterising its flora and fauna. A Centre of Interpretation offers guided tours.

At its entrance, a small dam turns this section of the Segre River into a pool, around which a small forest grew and marshes formed. Now, it is one of the favourite places of the inhabitants of Lleida to do sport and walk.

La Carbonera is a family recreation space, with an artificial pond, picnic tables and a playground with wooden structures.

For the most adventurous, the paths winding into the forest will take them to the bird observatories on the edge of the pools, the small dock and the footbridge which crosses the river, where there are always birds and kayakers practising sport.
