Antonio Aldomà and Maria José Pérez are the owners of this winery which owes its name to the archaeological site of Fortalesa dels Vilars (775 BC), a unique European exponent of the First Iron Age and Iberian culture.
Opened since 2002, Vinya les Vilars of Arbeca produces around 20,000 litres per year through manual harvesting from its 6 hectares of land typical of the region of Les Garrigues: calcareous soil, Mediterranean climate, cold winter, hot summer and a low avarage rainfall, favorable for growing sirana and merlot strains. In fact, the cellar is specialized in the production of single-varietal and aged red wines from these two varieties. The winery defines itself by having the best representation of macabees from the Costers del Segre Designation, among other things, with the wine Quim.
The family, in the desire to share experiences and sensations of the territory for more than a day, also opted for a caravan area equipped with all the services necessary for turists. It thus becomes a space that not only seeks to reveal the secrets of indigenous wines and vines, but is also ideal for enjoying an all-inclusive and undisturbed escape.
Vinya els Vilars sells mainly in Lleida and Catalonia, and exports to more than a dozen countries such as the USA, China, England or Germany.
