Description
Tradition at Horta de Lleida
During the middle of the 19th century, ancestors of the Pifarré family cultivated land in the Horta de Lleida between the Mariola and Caparrella divisions, where the Pifarré Farm is located today.
The history of Granja Pifarré reveals 6 generations dedicated to farming and livestock following a family business model where the quality of the products and the know-how of a vocational profession represents the lifestyle that have always prevailed. The farm had until 200 cows with an average production of 4000 liters per day of high quality milk.
During the year 2020, Granja Pifarré proposed to diversify the family business with educational proposals to promote the history and peasant tradition of the Horta de Lleida.
Thus, from March 2021 it offers a diversity of agrocultural activities with a focus on the rural life of Lleida city. Consequently, in 2022 it received the Horta Award from La Paeria · Lleida City Council at the category of innovation, given that in 2021 they received 5.033 visitors as well.
